Electric car conspiracy?,

The founder of a Canadian-made, 100 per cent electric car says the federal government is blocking him from selling his cars in Canada. The ZENN (zero emissions, no noise) electric car is already being sold in the United States, Mexico, and Europe, where it has won awards.

    @USAon3

The Chevy Aveo isn’t made by Daihatsu , it’s made by Daewoo..
You seem to be one of those people who thinks they know everything about everything and knows very little and shows it by spewing bs around as if you know some inside information…

Nothing is made 100% in America.. thats how it is..
If you can get the same part made cheaper and still get a quality good, why the hell not?

  2. eldictator1 says:

@USAon3 What are you smoking grandpa? For your information I’m 29 and drive a Seat Leon cupra r, wtf has my music taste got to do with this, a classic case of an ad hominem attack.. My POINT was that lack lustre design of previous electric cars hasn’t inspired anyone. You seriously think people are going to get excited of a zap zebra, a G whiz or a fucking coda…wise the fuck up you troll tard, electric cars have a serious image issue that needs to be sorted by good design.

  3. USAon3 says:

@DdgeShelby Chevy doesn’t make any economy cars, they haven’t for years. The Aveo is made by Daihatsu and has a Chevy badge on it. Chevy didn’t build that car any more than you or I did.
No American automaker builds anything that gets more than 25 mpg in town. All they can build are the unsafe, unsteady bricks they call SUVs. A moped is safer than any SUV.

  4. USAon3 says:

@eldictator1 No, child, YOU “need hot hatch looks” not the rest of the thinking world. And if you don’t think a hatch looks like a “toy” you must have been stung as a baby – which going by your taste in “music” wasn’t too long ago. You talk like a punk, you post like a punk, you probably whine like an emo punk too. Are you even old enough to drive? Of are you still on the streets on the Vespa your mum bought you so she wouldn’t have to listen to you whining from her basement.
    Get a clue..CHILD.

in 96-98 we turned a chevy s-10 into an electric truck at school…it cost $10,000 to build, used 8 or so batteries (cant remember what type), could smoke the tires and easily top out the transmission (140mph+), but it was governed to 80mph, it could go 200-300 miles on a full charge, took about 2 hrs to charge on 220v, 5-6hrs on 110v.. man i wish i payed more attn… p.m. if you want to know the school, maybe they still got some blue prints…

@bweazel Actually, the US is the only industrialized nation that doesn’t grow it.

I recently saw a documentary called “The Union: The Business of Getting High.” I would recommend it to anyone interested in marijuana/hemp/canibus.

The electric car threatens the profits of Big Oil, so they lobby against it. Hemp threatens several big groups including (but not limited to) the private prison, pharmaceutical, and timber industries. Knowledge is power!

  9. misterbonzai08 says:

When the tidal wave of support heads towards electric cars like the Tesla Roadster the big governments and companies will steer us to Hydrogen Fuel because the average consumer cannot generate this themselves and must be DEPENDENT on the companies. I bet it’s those bloody Freemasons.

  10. shechshire says:

@StevenMorello no matter what it’s always more efficient. Either way the fact that there are little to NONE of any EVs out their available to the immediate masses speaks for its self.

  11. Axbent says:

@davemtl66 Indeed, government is just another business nowadays! And as u indicate “free” oil money made it possible! No cheap oil no easy way to tax. Swedens govt lives on VAT (25%) and other high sales taxes, when goods in general becomes expesive due to lack of oil, things will get hard for the “Swedish model” (Social democracy).

  12. StevenMorello says:

@shechshire Typical thermal efficiency for electrical generators in the industry is around 33% for coal and oil-fired plants, and up to 50% for combined-cycle gas-fired plants. You have to consider that too. I did see a figure that electric cars have 3 times the efficiency of the ICE car, but don’t know what figures they are using, say for the oil-well to wheel efficiency. To do a proper comparison you have to compare coal-to-wheel efficiency and oil-to-wheel efficiency.

  13. shechshire says:

@StevenMorello who says you have to burn coal. You can use hydro, solar, and wind power. Even with that said, EVs are still ten times more efficient than gasoline cars.

  14. apexiblaster says:

Its easy the Government really dont want you to help save the world, they want to destroy us all… All they care about is their own selfish self and act like they care, but really they dont give a damn about anyone but themselves…

  15. ArielCaboob says:

@287654321 lol yeah right, breaking the laws of thermal dynamic was a random ohio man. while no one else in the world can do it

  16. MrKodiak1000 says:

@287654321 They would have to give up their oil orgy parties.

  17. MrKodiak1000 says:

@287654321 If you are not part of the a.Vatican b. mafia you are nothing.

  18. MrKodiak1000 says:

What an envirionmentally concerned government we have. LOL.

  19. StevenMorello says:

Just because it’s electric mean it has no C02 emissions. The car itself may not emit any C02, but charging it does. Electric cars would only be better than burning oil if the electricity is generated from renewables. If not, burning coal is worse than burning oil.

  21. davemtl66 says:

We Canadians keep forgetting that our governments tax our fuel quite highly in order to pay for various services (originally it was to save the environment but its just plain tax now). What are they to do if they loose this tax… or the tax on alcohol, cigarettes? They would be forced to tax our income in a way which would reveal just how expensive our government services have become.

  22. GeneralMaximus3 says:

The point is that the car works and works well but it doesn’t use gas so it makes no money for those very odd people up there on top with their wiles.

  23. GeneralMaximus3 says:

    Gas.

  24. Blockygraphics says:

I wouldn’t want to buy one of these shitboxes because the guy with the SUV will drive over my car and wouldn’t even notice.

Meanwhile, I’d have to be buried in my P.O.S. electric tin can car.

  25. Blockygraphics says:

@287654321 Heavy regulations keep players out of the market. Many large companies like regulations because it keeps their position in the marketplace while eliminating their competition.
